What the Bible Says About Jeroboam's Fake Feast
(From Forerunner comment)
1 Kings 11: 26-28
This is a recollection of what happened in verses 9–12: Jeroboam was the one who got Solomon's attention and he promoted Jeroboam, who then became famous in the kingdom.

II Chronicles 11: 13-17
(Compare with 1 Kings 12: 28-33.) There are at least two reasons why Jeroboam did thiswhat did he do. First, because he had no choice. Perhaps the Levites opposed him and refused to teach and engage in delusion, so they simply left. If Jeroboam wanted to establish a religion, he had to have priests. He could not use the Levites because there were none. Then he decided to appoint to this position anyone who wants to be a priest.
The second reason is that he may have kicked them out without any justification because they were too much of a threat. However, what happened ensured that there would be no one who knew God's way enough to pose a threat.
In connection with the departure of the Levites, Jeroboam established his own feast, very similar to the Feast of Tabernacles, only exactly one month later. He gave people something new to celebrate.
Again, the appeal of his changes was convenience. The law says that three timesin a year, all men had to appear before the Lord, and this meant a journey to Jerusalem. So to the Israelites, Jeroboam's reasoning seemed good. Jerusalem was too far away. In addition, because they were slightly north of the Jews, their harvest season was slightly later than in Judea, and therefore the Feast of Tabernacles posed a greater financial risk to them. Then they decided, "Why not get it in a month?" Can't we see how the carnal mind works?
“Yes, that sounds very logical. This is a good and practical change, because now the Festival never falls at harvest time and we don't have to worry about losing crops as long as we keep the holiday. "
“Wow, what wisdom! Why didn't we think about it before? Jeroboam, you are a real leader. "
